MISSION
We, the faith community of St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, in keeping with the Catholic Tradition, nurture in our children and one another, spiritual, personal and academic growth through prayer and Christ-like service.
GOALS
- St. Gregory the Great Catholic School endeavors to promote the development of each child according to his/her spiritual growth and intellectual aptitude. As a Christian community, we will take a personal interest in each student’s emotional and physical need and cultural background, partnering with the family in the formation of the whole child.
- Develop an active School Council with working committees to provide short and long term goals that enhance a positive environment for all our students, to facilitate a trusting partnership between families and the school, and to support the school’s administration in managing the resources to advance our mission.
OBJECTIVE
Provide a quality education in accordance with Catholic values to support the maximum classroom enrollment each school year in grades 3K through 8th for the next 5 years.
INTRODUCTION
The growing demands and needs of San Antonio have significantly affected the growth of St. Gregory the Great Parish. Over the years, the parish has expanded the church and added a rectory, gymnasium, parish center and library to meet the needs of the growing community. This rapid growth has resulted in a school infrastructure that can support 700 students.
PROCESS
This plan was developed with the expertise and guidance of members of the St. Gregory the Great School Council administration, school and parish community. The School Council will lead the process to ensure the Five-Year Plan is implemented by annually assessing the progress made against our defined goals and objectives. Annual assessment will be based on financial resources available, target dates, and importance as it relates to St. Gregory the Great School’s overall mission, goals and objectives.
The School Council is comprised of the following committees: Academic, Catholic Identity, Development, Finance, Buildings and Grounds, Technology, and Planning & Policy. Each committee has defined specific goals and objectives as follows:
