School Library
The St. Gregory the Great Catholic School Library has exciting news this year! We have implemented the Accelerated Reader program. Therefore, students are reading more books than ever! Students take computer quizzes over books they have read, earning points based on the length and difficulty of each book. Twice per year the students will be able to shop for prizes.
In order to purchase additional books for our Accelerated Reader program, all proceeds from the Catholic Life Insurance Raffle will go towards this effort. Every five tickets sold will purchase a new book, and the name of the child or family selling the tickets will be inscribed on a bookplate inside the front cover.
In addition, we completed our Scholastic Book Fair. We will use the funds to purchase new books for the Library. We also have beautiful Catholic Relief Services Fair Trade gift items for sale for the Christmas season. The beautiful Christmas ornaments, candles, pottery, and jewelry are all hand-crafted by artisans from third world countries. The artisans benefit by receiving the funds and reaching new markets, thereby supporting their families through their work.
Our Library is a beautiful facility, and we are so grateful to offer our students more each year in the way of up-dated books and research materials. We appreciate your support and prayers. Each of you blesses us immensely as we strive to help our students grow academically, as well as spiritually.
Staffing
The St. Gregory the Great Library is staffed by certified librarians and a degreed library assistant. Parent volunteers assist during the Scholastic Book Fairs which are scheduled twice a year.
